JOB DESCRIPTION
• Oversee all aspects of facility commissioning with a focus on automation control systems.
• Maintain project schedules and timelines.
• Actively participate in project meetings and design reviews.
• Maintain status reports.
• Have an advanced understanding of facilities equipment, process flow, and automation control systems and designs, including electrical systems, mechanical systems, software applications, data management, and network security.
• Develop and validate automation programs to ensure compliance with engineering documentation.
• Utilize software such as PLC Software (RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, DirectSoft5, ROCLINK 800/DS800), HMI programs (Red Lion Crimson, Factory Talk View, Panelview), and RTU programs for troubleshooting.
• Complete redlines and documentation for automation engineering to support current As-Built post commissioning.
• Follow the company's Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Adhere to program standardization and best practices.
• Support operations and automation specialists with training on control system functions.
• Train aspiring automation integrators on processes, programming, equipment, and documentation.
• Support low VAC devices, including transformers, breaker boxes, electrical switches, heaters, motors, and analyzers.
• Provide basic repairs and troubleshooting for 120v AC power supply to automation systems.
• Support troubleshooting of 480v and lower AC power availability and coordinate with the electrical team for necessary repairs.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, install, and manage automation end devices using Hart communicator and multimeters.
• Troubleshoot Ethernet, serial, satellite, and wireless field communications.
• Ensure alarms comply with standards and change control protocols.
• Communicate project activities with Asset Teams.
• Evaluate new technologies and provide analyses of pros and cons.
• Act as a liaison between customers (operations) and Automation Engineering to assist in project design and operating philosophy.
• Participate in Process Improvement Teams.
• Be willing to travel as needed to support unassigned job areas.
• Be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Exhibit advanced teamwork and collaboration abilities, emphasizing safety for self, co-workers, contractors, and the public.

Preferred:
• 4-year technical degree (Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Control Systems, or related field) or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced understanding of automation and electrical design principles.
• Advanced knowledge and technical skills working with PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, EFMs, POCs, and automation end devices.
• Intermediate knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.).
• Advanced understanding of PSSRs and MOCs.
• Advanced understanding of automation systems and network connections.
• Advanced knowledge of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in analog and discrete instrumentation, serial and Ethernet communication protocols.
• Experience with tagging conventions, programming simulation, and testing.
• Expertise in safe work systems and electrical/automation construction codes and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of automation equipment specifications and applications.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks within timelines.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage budgets.
• Understanding of gas engineering principles and gas measurement standards.
• Proficiencies in leadership, mentoring, and training.
• Advanced communication skills (written, oral, and remote meetings).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows Operating Systems.
