Job Title: Director Commercial FP&A US

Position Overview:

Direct the US FP&A Commercial function for a $2B+ business. Provide analytical and business decision support to the US leadership team (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Ops etc.). This position reports to the VP. Commercial FP&A and will focus on the following: Own the development of company financial models, and ensure that subsequent financial plans deliver financial success; Will ensure that financial performance against the plans is measured clearly and correctly; Is an advocate for the business plan and a driver of plan execution, including sales operations support; Will develop a Financial Planning & Analysis team that delivers sound decision support throughout the company.

Responsibilities:


  • Financial Planning: Own the revenue planning process at Insulet. This includes leading the budget and forecasting process. It also includes providing the financial plans to support the strategic planning process.

  • Drive Financial Results and Support Commercial Operations: Continuously monitor the business activity to ensure that the financial commitments are met. In this area, the Director will create the forum for debating decisions and driving consensus within the business. The Director, FP&A, will also be responsible for supporting the operations of Insulet's commercial organization, providing analytics and key decision support, including field sales analytics, regular management reporting and performance/trend analysis to senior sales and marketing leaders in support of driving business success.

  • Financial Reporting: Create and distribute the financial reporting that is necessary to measure the financial results and guide future business decisions for Insulet. This includes monthly and quarterly financial packages that track trends and performance of sales, costs, expenses and other critical metrics.

  • Financial Analysis & Consulting: Provide analysis and tools, as necessary, to support key decisions in the company.

  • Systems, Process Design & Improvement: Lead the design of new systems, processes to improve the quality and productivity of the finance team and the business in general.

  • Presentation: Present financial results and financial plans to various audiences among employees, management, and others when necessary.

  • Special Projects: Work on specific unique projects that might call for complex financial modeling, or project management skills.

  • Champion for Business Controls: As a leader of the finance team, the person in this role should be an advocate of strong business controls, and a supporter of Sarbanes-Oxley processes within Insulet.

  • Champion for Product and Process Improvement: The finance team should strive for continuous process and product improvement on all work activity in order to enhance the productivity and success of the finance department and the business unit it supports.

  • Teamwork and Training: The person in this role should work well with the various team members in the department and the broader Insulet community. This person will also be responsible for leading the FP&A resources within the company and developing a high performing FP&A team for Insulet.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree in finance or accounting strongly preferred

  • 10+ years of financial planning and analysis experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading a FP&A function; prior experience leading people and teams required.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:


  • MBA, CFA or CPA preferred.

  • Strong communication, presence, and relationship building skills at senior levels, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.

  • Systems savvy - experience with SAP, Business Performance Management and Customer Relationship Management (e.g. SalesForce.com) tools is a plus.

  • Excellent MS Office and modeling skills are required.

  • Able to synthesize and analyze large quantities of data to create useful information and concise analyses.

  • Able to effectively manage projects; results oriented and able to roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasks.

  • Able to work in a fast pace, high-growth environment.

Physical Requirements:


  • General office environment, may sit for long periods of time.

  • Domestic travel may be required up to 10%

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $158,250.00 - $237,375.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
