About the role
The AWS Cloud & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure and automation processes to ensure the secure, scalable, and efficient deployment of applications and services. This role requires a strong understanding of AWS DevOps practices, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security. Additionally, expertise in Linux system administration is crucial for managing and optimizing cloud-based environments. What you"ll do
Infrastructure Automation:
Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles are followed.
Automate the provisioning and management of resources across various environments (development, staging, production).
Maintain, monitor, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and efficient software deployment.
MQTT Key Management:
Design and implement secure processes for generating, distributing, and rotating MQTT keys using Terraform.
Integrate MQTT key management with cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless authentication and security for IoT devices.
Collaborate with IoT and security teams to ensure key policies are well-documented and securely managed.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Implement and manage monitoring tools to track system health, performance, and key metrics across infrastructure and application layers.
Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, identifying root causes and providing effective solutions.
Leverage Linux system administration expertise to diagnose and resolve performance or security issues in cloud-based environments.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with development, security, and IoT teams to ensure secure and efficient deployment of applications and services.
Collaborate with engineering teams across the company to identify and implement cloud system designs that meet best practices for cloud deployment and scaling.
Provide guidance and support in maintaining the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure security best practices are followed in the management of MQTT keys and infrastructure.
Implement encryption, key rotation, and access control measures to protect sensitive data in transit.
Work with the cybersecurity team to secure cloud environments and ensure new solutions align with best practices and compliance standards.
Cloud Optimization:
Develop secure, highly available, cost-efficient cloud-native architectures utilizing the AWS Well-Architected Framework to modernize existing workloads.
Identify and adopt best practices, architectural solution patterns, and new technologies to address current and future business needs, enhance security, and optimize costs.
Manage AWS infrastructure related to CI/CD, connectivity, and data collection and analysis of autonomous vehicles.
Incident Response & Operations:
Work with engineering, system admins, and DevOps teams to diagnose and solve high-level cloud application and connectivity issues.
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
Utilize Linux expertise to manage system resources, optimize performance, and automate system maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role, with a focus on AWS cloud infrastructure automation and continuous integration/delivery.
Strong experience with AWS services (IAM, VPC, Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, etc.) and cloud best practices.
Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation, including managing cloud resources, secrets, and keys.
Experience in MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocols and key management.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar for automation and infrastructure management.
Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, key rotation, and access control measures.
Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stack.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Experience in Linux system administration, including in-depth knowledge of command line utilities, system optimization, and security.
Ability to balance technical needs against cloud costs while scaling new technologies to meet project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IoT security and communication for devices.
Familiarity with MQTT brokers and best practices for scaling and securing IoT messaging systems.
Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform are a plus.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secret management and encryption.
Education & Experience
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role, with a focus on AWS cloud infrastructure automation and continuous integration/delivery.

The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more.
