NOVO is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated HR Safety Manager to support our St. Louis MO facility. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing company and make a significant impact on our success. As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the facility's operations, from strategic planning and financial management to team leadership and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact role requiring exceptional leadership, business acumen, and operational expertise, and the ability to drive the facility to achieve and maintain various industry accreditation requirements.

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of talent

  • Provides safety and HR support to their specific facility

  • Ensure policy administration, promotes company awareness about events and employee accomplishments through communications including newsletters, events, announcements, and memos

  • Must be able to perform essential functions and meet minimum work standards with, or without accommodations

  • Provide support, training, and guidance to management for employee issues

  • Provide HR guidance to the Management Team

  • Support and Roll Out Corporate Initiatives

  • Attend and present at regularly scheduled Management meetings

  • Write, review, and administer disciplinary actions up to and including termination

  • Manage Unemployment Claims

  • Pre-screen all applications and resumes

  • Schedule interviews for all production and non-production positions

  • Perform interviews, reference checks and pre-employment drug screens

  • Run MVRS when necessary and support distribution with administrative tasks

  • Perform new hire on-boarding, OSHA training and new hire coaching follow-ups.

  • Oversee Attendance Program for the site

  • Work closely with Operations to ensure appropriate staffing

  • Share and/or create communications to keep all associates aware of important items (plant publicity via social media, newsletter articles, updating electronic communications board, etc.)

  • Complete monthly safety audits of the plant and follow up on all corrective actions

  • Complete accident investigations to determine root cause; and work with plant management to ensure corrective action is taken

  • Responsible for completion and updating of OSHA 300 log and tracking all work-related incidents

  • Manage plant worker’s compensation cases


  • Responsible for all plant safety training (on-boarding and refresher/annual training for current employees)

  • Active participant in monthly Safety committee meetings

  • Participate in plant communication meetings to talk safety (toolbox talk, recent accidents, etc.)

  • Ensure compliance and management of company safety policies (PPE, lock out/tag out, HAZCOM, fall protection, security cameras, etc.)

  • Manage all employee personnel and medical files

Secondary Job Functions


  • Represent NOVO at job fairs and community functions

  • Responsible for benefit administration

  • Coordinate employee of the month program

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of progressive HR experience; additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Thrive in multi-tasking, fast paced environment

  • Highly organized

  • Ability to work independently

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency with IT systems including Microsoft Office, Workday

  • Excellent communication and people skills
