The Director of Operations is responsible for day-to-day operations to support the growth and bottom line of the company by focusing on strategic planning, goal-setting, refining processes, and continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities:
Ensure efficient and effective management of all shipping, logistics, warehousing, and inventory operations. This includes coordinating with suppliers, managing stock levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Supervise forklift operations and ensure all operators are properly trained and certified. This includes implementing safety protocols and conducting regular training sessions.
Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring all financial resources are allocated effectively. This includes monitoring expenses, forecasting future financial needs, and making adjustments as necessary.
Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
Manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring they meet the company's standards and requirements.
Collaborate with logistics and shipping partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
Monitor and analyze marketplace metrics related to shipping, such as delivery times, shipping costs, and customer satisfaction, to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and execute strategic plans and set goals for the department to support the company's overall objectives.
