Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist in San Diego and Culver City, CA. This position is a full-time role that will be embedded with one of our technology clients, 5 days per week. This assignment is anticipated to last 12 months and could be extended.
As an EHS Specialist, you will be working along with our client's existing team of environmental, health and safety professionals to provide EHS services, solutions, programs, best practices and technical guidance across a variety of workplace settings including but not limited to office spaces, facilities spaces and research laboratories.
Essential Functions may include but are not limited to:
Performing EHS inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standards
Coordinating chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, and regulatory agency inspections and completing assigned compliance tasks in a timely manner
Providing mentorship and training to employees on procedures and practices to promote an outstanding culture
Conducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
Staying up to date on regulations and standard processes, and making recommendations for improvements to procedures and programs
Handling EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all vital permits and reports are completed accurately and on time
Acting as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractors
Coordinating and responding to onsite emergency response efforts
Participating in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazards
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in managing Environmental, Health & Safety projects.
Experience working in the technology industry and environment is a plus.
Comfortable working in dynamic environments and handling ambiguity.
Must have a deep understanding of Federal OSHA and EPA, CALOSHA and CALEPA and local EHS regulations and their applicability. Further understanding of NFPA and/or international environment, health & safety regulations is a plus.
Knowledge of hazardous materials, air permitting requirements, and hazardous waste regulations.
Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
Experience providing laboratory and facilities EHS support
Ability to be on call and work off hours, and comfortable with acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Additionally, if you are assigned work in the field at client project sites you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
Medium to heavy work
Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at the knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward), and climbing
Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate, and possibly heavy-weight objects
Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts, or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling
May be required to wear an air-purifying respirator
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this position is $93,000 - $145,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
