Location: Benson, NC

Salary: $70,000.00 USD Annually - $75,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our Manufacturing client is currently seeking a EHS Coordinator in the Benson NC area. Responsible for supporting the environmental, safety and health related efforts for the site, including participation in all safety improvement process activities for the facility. Champion and support EHS implementation of programs, campaigns, and initiatives by: challenging plant employees to be active participants in pursuing EHS excellence; promoting consideration of EHS implications in all plant projects and activities; providing positive reinforcement and coaching to employees; and continually demonstrating appropriate behavior and leading by example.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Investigates and addresses line/equipment stoppages due to perceived or imminent safety risks.


• Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws in all responsibilities.


• Leads risk assessment activities, prioritizing corrective and preventative actions to mitigate environmental, health, or safety risks.


• Conducts all required safety meetings, including Pre-shift, Department Change Management, General communication, and Town Hall meetings.


• Performs incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implements corrective actions promptly and thoroughly.


• Motivates and coaches employees through effective communication and regular performance feedback, coordinating additional training as needed.


• Reports identified or reported EHS issues to the EHS&S Supervisor and assists in their resolution.


• Empowers employees to identify and address safety concerns and generate new safety and health ideas.


• Fully understands and utilizes all ISO procedures.


• Promotes and participates in employee involvement programs, such as project teams, committees, and internal training.


• Participates in plant and/or department-level EHS audits, self-assessments, and inspections.


• Manages the SDS program for the site, including contacting manufacturers for SDS and entering SDS into the Maxcom System.


• Ensures the availability of chemical labeling in the plant.


• Follows up on inspection recommendations and verifies their completion.


• Maintain ISO-compliant safety and environmental compliance records.


• Develop, create, and deliver safety training sessions for employees as required.


• Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response activities.


• Define safety training requirements for employees.


• Conduct safety training sessions as needed.


• Participate in internal and external facility inspections to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, insurance, and internal safety requirements.


• Collaborate effectively with all internal job levels and external agencies to enhance the safety improvement process.


• Continuously update and expand professional knowledge in environmental protection, occupational health, and industrial safety through annual professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma required; Associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred, or a combination of related training, education, and experience.


• Certifications:
  
  
  • Current or able to qualify for CPR/First Aid/BBP certifications.
  
  
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other safety certification preferred.
  
  
  • Six Sigma certification preferred (Green or Black Belt).
  
  
  
  


• Work Experience:
  
  
  • At least 3 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing facility (preferably textiles or roll goods).
  
  
  • Proven track record of safety accomplishments.
