The Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health was formally created in 2012 and was named in recognition of a transformative gift by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation. With strong connections to the IU School of Medicine and other health science schools on the IU Indianapolis campus, the School of Public Health is poised to be a catalyst to help build a collaborative approach to improved public health in Indiana. The School of Public Health currently serves more than 700 students, employs over 40 full-time staff and is home to nearly 50 full-time faculty within the departments of Epidemiology, Community and Global Health, Health Policy and Management, and Biostatistics and Health Data Science.
Job Summary
Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.
Compiles data for expense and statistical reports.
Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately.
Schedules and confirms appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements; tracks expenses.
Participates in the development and implementation of administrative standards, policies and practices for the organization.
May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary
$40,000-$44,000 based on education and experience
