Role Overview:
The Senior Director of Pricing is a critical leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing FactSet's pricing and bundling strategies to grow revenue, profitability, and market share. This role will lead a team to optimize pricing models, create targeted and innovative bundling options, and ensure alignment with FactSet's overall business objectives and revenue goals.
You will collaborate closely with product management, sales, marketing, legal and finance to drive profitable growth and enhance FactSet's competitive position. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of value-based pricing principles.
Responsibilities:
Pricing Strategy & Process:
Develop and champion FactSet's overall pricing strategy, ensuring it aligns with market trends, competitive landscape, client segmentation, and company objectives.
Establish and maintain clear pricing concepts for list prices and discounts, ensuring transparency and consistency.
Drive alignment of pricing strategies across different product lines, personas, firm types and geographic regions (ensuring global consistency while allowing for local market adaptations.)
Establish and maintain pricing governance and approval workflows.
Pricing Analytics & Tactics:
Lead the team in setting list prices and discounts thorough market analysis, cost considerations, competitive intelligence, and value proposition.
Partner with Sales and Finance to manage the budgeting process related to pricing and revenue forecasting, providing accurate and insightful projections.
Implement analytics and controlling mechanisms to track pricing performance, identify areas for improvement, and measure the impact of pricing initiatives.
Develop and execute counter-measures, actions, and campaigns to address competitive threats or market opportunities proactively.
Bundling & Packaging:
Develop and implement bundling strategies to increase product adoption, customer lifetime value, and overall revenue.
Set policies on product governance and ensure alignment and adherence across the enterprise
Analyze client usage patterns and preferences to identify optimal product combinations for bundles.
Collaborate with product and marketing teams to create compelling value propositions for bundled offerings.
Competitor Insight:
Monitor and analyze competitor pricing strategies, tactics, and product offerings.
Develop and implement strategies to effectively respond to competitive pricing pressures, maintaining FactSet's competitive advantage.
Team Leadership & Development:
Act as the primary liaison for pricing and bundling strategies within the executive team, ensuring cross-functional coordination.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing pricing team, both direct and matrixed members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Set clear performance goals and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching.
Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the pricing team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, product development, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment on pricing strategies and objectives.
Communicate pricing strategies and decisions effectively to stakeholders across the organization.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or related field required; MBA is a plus
15+ years of experience, across fields related to sales, pricing, product or operations, with progressive leadership experience
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing and bundling strategies in a SaaS or financial services environment
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable pricing strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and effectively with cross-functional teams
Deep understanding of market dynamics, client needs and value-based pricing principles and methodologies
Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation
Experience in managing and developing high potential team
Ability to work a hybrid schedule (2 days a week) from an office in NYC or Norwalk, CT
The budgeted salary amount range for this position in the State of Connecticut and NYC is $200,000 - $250,000
