Job Description Summary

The Supervisor, Allied Health oversees the safe, humane and individualized delivery of quality patient care to patients from admission to discharge. Assists with the supervision and evaluation of Allied Health activities and collaborates with other disciplines to guarantee continuity and quality of care.

Job Description




The Supervisor, Allied Health & Wheelchair Seating:



  • Schedules and supervises assigned staff.


  • Assists with hiring, training, and evaluation of Allied Health staff.


  • Facilitates patient admissions and screening processes. Monitors staffing and productivity, providing feedback to staff and COG leadership regarding individual and team performance.


  • Ensures staff competency in clinical skills, referring personnel to appropriate staff, written reference, or other expert opinion for professional development.


  • Assists with preparing the operating and capital budgets.


  • Participates in the development, evaluation, and improvement of clinical protocols, providing training to staff on compliance.


  • Documents patient care activities following protocols, utilizing SRAlabIS, and appropriate manual report forms.


  • Performs direct patient care responsibilities as needed.


  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.





Reporting Relationships:



  • Reports directly to the Manager Wheelchair Seating





Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:



  • Professional knowledge of practice and supervision, at a level generally acquired through a degree required for clinical licensure.


  • Current license to practice in allied health discipline.


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a rehabilitation Allied Health discipline in order to gain knowledge of organization and operation of unit and in-depth knowledge of theories and practices.


  • Able to maintain current of clinical practices and developments in the field.


  • Interpersonal skills for communication with patients, families, and institute personnel.


  • Analytical skills to plan and to assign work schedules, set priorities, give input on policies, procedures and budgets and to evaluate programs, new equipment and supplies.


  • Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 35 lbs.


  • Current driver's license in instances where COG requires driving of self, patients, co-workers and/or supplies to carry out job responsibilities.





Working Conditions:



  • Normal patient care environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.





Pay and Benefits*:




Pay Range: $71278.00 annually - $124,500.00 annually
