The Head of HEVA (Health Economics & Value Assessment) Specialty Care leads a team of 60+ employees and has leadership responsibility for the Specialty Care Global HEVA function which includes supporting US activities within the business unit. The department plans and generates robust evidence to maximize the value propositions of our specialty care products. This role reports to the Global Head of Market Access, Specialty Care.
Health Economics strategy, payer evidence generation and reimbursement support for both the US and global Specialty Care portfolio.
Oversee delivery of quality research projects, economic models, trial design recommendations and other activities in support of the entire specialty care portfolio.
The incumbent interfaces with Market Access, Global Pricing, Clinical, Epidemiology, Medical Affairs, US Public Policy and business partners including Franchise, Brand teams and project teams and Market Access at regional and local levels.
He/she is accountable for the oversight of timely planning, design, execution, and completion of innovative evidence-based research programs that are consistent with program/product strategies. The research programs developed will provide appropriate evidence and/or tools to be used for internal decision making and for external audiences at product launch and over product life cycle with the ultimate goal to support market access activities (i.e. recommendation and funding).

Main Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop high performing teams to optimize contribution and continuous development of direct reports as well as the HEVA Hub ensuring the proper alignment with global HEVA experts.
Accountable for the development and the delivering of high-quality HEVA Evidence Generation Plan, Core Value Dossier, and Health Economic Models.
Collaborate with Global Market Access & Pricing to support development of Market Access Plan, Value Story & Messaging, Pricing & Contracting Policy, and Launch Sequencing.
Promote a culture of innovation in HEVA, including a clear view on data sourcing strategy through to best in class methodology adoption and development including technology and AI-driven.
Responsible for co-leading the HEVA Community of Practice with HEVA heads from other GBUs, member of the Specialty Care Market Access Leadership Team and core member of thecommittees.
Responsible for working collaboratively with R&D, Medical and epidemiology to support the development of TVP and integrated evidence generation plan (IEGP).
Provides leadership to design evidence generation strategies, notably by being a core member of the Sanofi Specialty Care HEOR/Medical Study Review Committee
Responsible for managing the HEVA budget and maintaining a clear focus on the most impactful HEOR projects.
Takes a leadership role in the development of relationships and continued advocacy with external advisors in appropriate therapeutic areas and in the HTA field.
Interacts with senior level management providing high level strategies and long-term vision of assigned work.
Develop and maintain at expert level, an understanding of relevant recommendations, pricing and funding criteria used by payers in key markets to make informed decisions about Market Access strategies, plans and tactics. Actively scans the environment for emerging trends and identifies future risk.
About You
Education:
Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MSc, MPH, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in health economics, outcomes research, or a related field. Experience leading a HEVA/HEOR function.
Previous experience in immunology.
Demonstrated experience in applying various HEOR methods to specific research projects.
Publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Knowledge of global HTA processes and guidelines and experience with HTA submissions.
Strong ability to collaborate with leaders from other (i.e. non-HEOR) functional areas.
Proficiency in principles of evidence-based medicine and clinical research methodology.
Understanding of the disease environment and the evolution of the market access landscape and implications for the business.
Leadership competencies:
Demonstrated leadership in both technical and strategic aspects of the role, track record of professional development and the capacity to develop others.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills. Significant experience making presentations to senior management is strongly desired.
Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry, demonstrated integrity on work-related compliance considerations and solid ethics.
