We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Secretary II to join our Radiation Oncology department in Towson. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to our medical staff while ensuring efficient department operations and exceptional patient service.
Manage and coordinate patient appointments, maintaining an organized scheduling system for radiation therapy treatments
Process and verify patient registration, insurance information, and required documentation
Handle confidential patient medical records and maintain EHR systems
Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
Prepare and process medical documentation, reports, and correspondence
Perform medical billing and coding duties for radiation oncology services
Answer and direct phone calls, responding to patient inquiries professionally
Assist with department workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain inventory of office supplies and medical forms
Facilitate interdepartmental communication and coordinate with various healthcare teams

Qualifications
High school diploma (Required); Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience as a medical secretary, preferably in oncology or radiation departments
Proven expertise in medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance procedures
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong documentation abilities
Medical Secretary certification preferred
Experience with medical scheduling software
Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures and medical office operations
