Performs the production scheduling and planning functions for the facility. This entails daily finite scheduling, short term and long-term capacity planning, and meeting attainment to customer demand requirements on a weekly basis.
JOB DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage, develop, and monitor master production schedules for long and short term
Work with plant managers to determine overtime, downtime, partial run costs, promotions, seasonal supplies, and sales along with balancing volume between plants. Synchronize production scheduling with optimum crewing and equipment utilization contributing to a positive profit margin
Formalize rough-cut capacity planning to manage capacity constrained lines & show Sales where opportunities exist for growth
Work with Sales to support new product rollouts & maintain new product logs
Create production orders in the system and get real-time feedback on the plan as production executes
Subject matter expert in relation to plant capacity and capability to run product
Responsible for creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules for the plant
Providing a finite 2 week rolling schedule to the plant for material and labor planning
Maintains and distributes the weekly and month production attainment reports for the plant with accurate entry of reason codes for not meeting attainment
Sets up and maintains the machine scheduling standards and line priorities by SKU.
Sequences production orders on production lines/processes efficiently to maximize run time
Monitors capacity levels and overtime requirements
Will seek overtime approval before scheduling ensuring customer agrees to pay when applicable
Identify change-overs, tool changes and material changesrequired for each line and communicates it on the system or external scheduling tools
Assesses capacity and ability to meet order deadlines for all production lines in the facility (varies by site)
Communicates the plan to the operations daily by leading daily material shortage and production meetings
Analyzing customer orders and forecasts to create long term 13 weekly rolling master schedules for capacity planning, ordering of materials and labor planning
Leads the plant 13-week capacity planning meeting in accordance to the standard work
Works cross-functionally with Quality Assurance and Maintenance on establishing run matrixes for sequencing SKUs on each production line and scheduling preventative maintenance activities.
Reviews new sales opportunities on current asset base to validate capacity availability
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate or advanced level
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
Good Communication Skills are critical. Schedulers will need to speak with coworkers and customers on a regular basis.
Critical-Thinking Skills are key: Schedulers will need to devise plans of action and asses those plans regularly.
Organizational Skills: Multiple orders, people and many moving pieces to adjust schedule accordingly. Must be able to multi-task well.
Problem-Solving Skills: Schedulers will need to be ready when problems arise, or be ready to anticipate problems before they happen.
Proficiency in:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate or advanced level.
SAP experience preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the procurement and supply chain fields.
5+ Years in Planning and Production
Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Customer service background preferred

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $58,962 - $88,444/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance.
