Job Description:

The Van Drunen Family of Companies is growing!


The Laboratory Technician shall provide analytical, support in the analysis of ingredient, in-process, and finished product testing required.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Operates and maintains scientific instruments, including, but not limited to analytical balances, pH meters, and spectrophotometers.

  • With training, become proficient in the FutureCeuticals core methods including, but not limited to wet chemistry, ID by FTIR, PSL, UV-vis spectrophotometry, and sample preparations for various techniques.

  • With appropriate training, be able to perform all Wet Chemistry analyses using methods from the FutureCeuticals methods folder as well as compendium methods, such as FCC (Food Chemical Codex) and USP (United States Pharmacopeia).

  • Perform non-routine Wet Chemistry analyses as directed by senior personnel.

  • Analyze and evaluate results prior to submitting completed work.

  • Perform peer review of analytical results generated by the laboratory.

  • Maintains technical records and prepares reports.

  • The assistant analytical chemist may be required to participate with fellow FutureCeuticals associates in discussions of analytical analyses and results.

  • Maintains analytical equipment thru the FutureCeuticals Calibration Program.

  • Maintains inventories of laboratory supplies on hand for laboratory use.




JOB EXPERIENCE
:



  • 0 -3 years' experience in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or other appropriate scientific degree and laboratory experience.




KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:



  • Comply with the FutureCeuticals values and Leadership Behaviors.

  • Excellent teamwork and effective communication skills.

  • Assist in ongoing laboratory activities and projects as directed.

  • Remain current in ISO regulations and/or other regulatory requirements as needed.

  • Experience in word processing and spreadsheet analysis.

  • With training, proficient in using Quality Systems Database.

  • Experience with statistical analysis of laboratory data.




EDUCATION:



  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or other appropriate scientific degree and laboratory experience.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.


The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.



WORKING CONDITIONS:



This position will operate in a professional office and a chemical lab environment. It requires the use of standard and technical office programs as well as chemical and other laboratory equipment and products. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.





  • Expected Pay Range: $23/hr-$24.75/hr, non-exempt


  • Duration: Contract to Hire


  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
