Job Description



The Account Manager is responsible for all sales and business development activities to promote SGS Industrial Services, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory or geographic location and vertical markets. The successful incumbent will prepare individual sales action plans aligned with the overall sales strategy, target markets, and service offerings to ensure a targeted and focused approach that will deliver on the overall growth strategy of the business and maximize profit. Additionally, they will nurture and grow current sales opportunities, prospect and develop new markets to meet required revenue targets within defined areas of responsibility. Incumbents will work collaboratively with Operations, and fellow Account Executives as one team to achieve growth through customer satisfaction. It is expected that Account Executives contribute to sales and marketing intelligence and maintain a high profile in the industry for the Company.


  • Accountable for meeting annually established sales and profitability targets within approved expense budgets for assigned vertical industry.

  • Prepare individual sales plans with goals/objectives: Identify, research, plan and contact potential and existing clients to maintain and establish new business to achieve targeted revenue growth.

  • Follow the sales full cycle from lead generations, customer relations, through to close.

  • Meet regularly with new client prospects and existing clients, for new business development and client retention.

  • Research new customers, prospect for new customers using the internet, phone, cold calling and personal visits.

  • Provide accurate forecasts and pipelines on a regular basis.

  • Report on developments in the marketplace and competitor activities (market intelligence)

  • Work vigilantly to create a positive customer experience and value throughout the sales process, to differentiate SGS from its competitors

  • Participates in and implements campaigns and strategies to promote the sale of the SGS divisional services.

  • Working with all sales support groups (Marketing, Inside Sales) to support initiatives and lead generation.

  • Prepares client quotes, service agreements, proposals, responses to RFS, RFP's or tenders within set deadlines ensuring professional submission of all information as requested by clients and with proper collaboration of inside SGS sales support to ensure that project scope, schedules and budgets are accurately planned, monitored, communicated and met.

  • Participates in cross-selling initiatives and generates cross selling opportunities with other business lines where applicable.

  • Secure closure on all proposals and is responsible for follow up with clients after project closure.

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports of sales activities (e.g. client visits/calls, information) using the existing systems (CRM).

  • Present and represents SGS at Trade Shows and Conferences to build SGS brand awareness and broaden the market and client base.

  • Pursues opportunities to expand Company profile and client relationships

  • May be assigned special or related ad hoc projects from time-to-time within the company.

  • Will train and mentor junior sales team members




Qualifications




Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering

  • 10+ years of related experience in sales or business development in the service industry

  • TIC industry experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of the business line services

  • Business acumen.

  • Ability to demonstrate customer centric selling techniques.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Must be a self-motivator and self-starter.

  • Creative, innovative and client focused

  • Demonstrate diplomacy and networking skills

  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.

  • Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook) including sales tracking tools (i.e. CRM).

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.

  • Ability to work well with others & independently.

  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

  • Works well under pressure.

  • Ensures full compliance with the company's Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.


Computer Skills



  • Proficient user of Office 365
