Your Role:
The Senior EHS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs for Millipore Sigma's manufacturing facility in Jaffrey, NH. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a safe working environment. The engineer will conduct risk assessments, lead safety initiatives, and provide technical support to various departments while fostering a culture of EHS excellence. The ideal candidate will be a visible presence within the organization, driving awareness, providing guidance to reduce safety risks and enhance the safety culture.
Duties Include:
Ensure adherence to EHS regulations and standards at local, state, and federal levels. Stay updated on legislative changes and advise the organization accordingly. Prepare and maintain safety procedures in alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements, facilitating compliance through audits, inspections, and recordkeeping
Lead risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation measures
Design, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies that promote a culture of safety responsibility

Provide EHS reviews and approvals to support various programs including management of change (MOC) and risk assessments
Collaborate with employees, leadership, and safety committees (e.g., SWAT) to promote Millipore Sigma's safety mindset. Act as a role model, providing guidance and mentorship to manager, supervisors and staff, and work with employees to identify and implement safety risk reduction opportunities
Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about safety practices and expectations
Participate in the design and development of facilities, work areas, equipment, and work procedures
Perform data analysis to identify leading indicators of incidents and guide managers and supervisors on proactively reducing workplace risks. Utilize CR360 for validated reporting and manage relevant databases
Engage in continuing education to remain current in the EHS profession through seminars, courses, and participation in corporate audits
Prepare and submit permit applications, reports, and other required documentation
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles within a manufacturing environment is required
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Process and plant Safety, Ergonomics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., US EPA, OSHA, DOT, NH DES)
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent)
Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities
Strong project management capabilities
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate across departments and influence peers
Proficient in EHS management software, data analysis tools and MS office applications
Proficient in MS Office Applications
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical requirements:
Able to wear clean room attire and personal protective equipment for entirety of shift
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs., occasional lifting of 11-25 lbs.
Ability to bend, squat, and kneel
Must be able to grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly, fine motor skills are required
