Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.
Pay: $19.50 - $27.73 per hour based on experience, including Pay-In-Lieu of Benefit options!
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, 80-hours per pay period *TEMP POSITION UP TO 6 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR HIRE!

The Nurse Secretary is to facilitate the maintenance of the resident's medical record, transcribes orders, set up appointments and transportation for residents, and role models the customer service expectation on the station. Prioritizes, organizes and coordinates desk activities to facilitate smooth, efficient unit operations. Manages and performs clerical and non-nursing administrative tasks for the participant unit. Serves as the receptionist/communicator for the resident unit. Manages inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment for the resident unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of telecommunications systems.
Communications and Media - Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries and medical consultations.
Will call to remind participants to fast in order to catch them prior to meals.
Compile and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence, using typewriter or personal computer.
Answer telephones, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
Receive and route messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff.
Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
Interview participants in order to complete documents, case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms.
Will make sure rooms are stocked appropriately and ordering list is up to date.
Will work directly with the ordering specialist and keep track of when orders are placed and when items are received.
During busy clinic hours, will be responsible for bringing participants back on time, doing vital signs, prepping patients for physicians/nurses, setting out appropriate supplies, collecting specimens and getting results prior to visits.
Will record vitals as well.
Will perform some nursing tasks such as HGAIC's, INR's, U/A's and setting up slides on the microscope for nurses/physicians.
Will sanitize rooms and empty trash between participants.
Can perform data entry and run specimens to MMH as needed.
