Staff Accountant - Somerville, MA


Our client, a non-profit organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage payroll processes and support general accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with payroll experience, strong accounting knowledge, and a background in the non-profit sector.



Key Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees using Paylocity.


• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate payroll data, including deductions and tax withholdings.


• Reconcile payroll records and assist with resolving payroll discrepancies.


• Generate payroll reports and support integration with accounting systems.


• Prepare and submit invoices and assist with expense tracking.


• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with journal entries.


• Support month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


• 3+ years of payroll and accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.


• Experience with payroll systems (Paylocity preferred).


• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite a plus).


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
