Rank: Guest Faculty

Tenure Information: Non-Tenure Track

Job Description

The Visual and Studio Arts program at Sarah Lawrence College announces a one year, half-time, guest appointment with possible renewal of an additional two years in Digital Sculpture, beginning Fall 2025. This guest faculty will teach one 5-credit course each semester with a maximum of fifteen students, and one 2-credit “concept class” during the fall semester. The five-credit course is an Introduction to Rhino with application techniques relating to a broader creative practice. The two-credit course, Digital Collage, will cover the basics of working with Photoshop and other digital collage tools. The courses will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The successful candidate will be able to seamlessly integrate digital tools as part of a larger visual arts practice.

In addition to regular coursework, students enrolled in the 5-credit course will complete a significant independent project referred to as a ‘Conference Project’, a hallmark of Sarah Lawrence’s educational system. Candidates should have the ability to teach students of all levels with an interdisciplinary approach.
