Direct - Production Worker, Lead at Scepter Manufacturing, LLC in Miami, Oklahoma

2nd Shift Monday - Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm

Job Overview :

Under general direction from the Production Supervisor, t he Production Lead II is directly responsible for leading the production shift to ensure that all production activities , including, but not limited to assembly work, and machine and equipment operation and monitoring, are carried out in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. The Production Lead II acts as a right-hand to the Production Supervisor and will also provide coverage in any production area as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Own and drive productivity, quality and schedule attainment for the shift

• Coordinate daily production schedule to develop rotation based on scheduling needs while ensuring training needs are met

• Monitor machines and equipment in operation for malfunctions, and start and stop all machinery when necessary , using Lock-out/Tag-out as required

• Performs production duties and fills-in as required to provide coverage for breaks, absenteeism, and time away from work

• Own training of new employees , and upskilling or retraining when required

• Lead daily housekeeping activities of all production areas throughout the shift

• Utilize S ervant L eadership principles to coach and mentor employees, promoting positive employee relations, while reinforcing Company policies and a highly safety-conscious work culture

• Back up t o the Production Supervisor as needed

• Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must be very safety-conscious with a record of Hazard Identification and Risk Control

• Must operate , understand, and transfer knowledge of all machinery and equipment

• Must possess mathematical, mechanical and analytical aptitude

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to read and communicate verbally effectively

• Must have strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and excellent time management skills

• Proven interpersonal skills and team-oriented, with the ability to work in a diverse workplace

• Forklift certification from Scepter required

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or e quivalent required

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in a leadership role

• Minimum of one year forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment . Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required . Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds . Ability to stand for at least 8 - 12 hours on concrete surface is required . Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
