Job Summary

Augusta University is seeking applications for an Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach. This is a full-time 12-month position (working through-out the year). Augusta University competes at the NCAA DII level and is a proud member of the Peach Belt Conference. This position will assist the head coach with planning and organizing all phases of the women's volleyball program. Which would include but not limited to assisting with practice planning/instructing for player development, in-game coaching, travel arrangements, home game management, fundraising, summer camps and community outreach opportunities.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

RECRUITING/SCOUTING STUDENT ATHLETES TO MAINTAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE: Develop a good relationship with the coaches and contacts of high schools, junior colleges, clubs and community-sponsored groups, Contact and evaluate local, state, national and international prospective student-athletes. Conduct official and unofficial visits on-campus. Maintain knowledge of NCAA Division II recruiting rules

INSTRUCTION STUDENT ATHLETES: Assist with practice planning and instructing players during sessions (team and individually); On the court in-game coaching.

ACADEMIC MONITORING OF STUDENT ATHLETES:Review student-athlete's academic progress reports in a timely manner to ensure consistency with the athletic departmental procedures.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY HEAD COACH: Planning team travel (lodging and meals) and structuring team activities. Assist in management and community outreach projects and fundraising events. Maintain weekly practice records and submit to Athletics Compliance Coordinator. Demonstrate a commitment to individual and academics integrity. Maintain compliance with policies and procedures. Successfully perform coaching, administrative. and support tasks.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of one year of experience coaching. Valid state driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with two years experience coaching/playing volleyball at the collegiate level, is highly desirable. Experience recruiting quality student athletes is preferred. Experience with NCAA compliance and knowledge of DII volleyball rules is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and motivational skills

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines and multi-task

Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines and exercise good judgment.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday *Work outside regular business hours may be required.

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
