At Cedar Valley Montessori School (CVMS) we are seeking a Head of Operations. What we do is more of a calling and a mission than a job. We help children age two through six grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually in an environment that emphasizes individualized learning and respect for themselves and the world around them. This critical role ensures that all of the "behind the scenes work" is done to support the staff, families and ultimately our students.
For this 30 hour per week role, we offer year-round employment, full-time benefits, including health and dental insurance, 401K, and paid time off.
Responsibilities include:
Financial Administration - financial analysis, annual budgeting, and forecasting. Preparation of month end, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and payroll, and annual 990. Management of 401k retirement plan and renewals of health/dental benefits and organizational insurance policies.
Facilities Maintenance - coordinate facility maintenance, monitor security system, ensure fire and safety compliance, schedule required annual/semi-annual inspections
Program Management - ensure compliance with state licensing and all policies and procedures
Employee Personnel - onboarding of new employees and substitutes, manage employee PTO and staffing, ensuring background checks, professional development hours, and DHS requirements are up to date
Student Records - communicating with families and maintaining student records. Ensuring student files are up to date according to licensing requirements. Assist with enrollment and admissions.
Qualified candidates will possess:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
Proven accounting/finance experience
Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
Strong problem solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Desire to work in a family-friendly, supportive environment
Experience working within non-profit finance is desired
