P&C Claims Associate at MMC in Clearwater, Florida

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:



The P&C Claims Associate will triage the P&C Claims Email Inbox, set up and report new claims and assist the P&C Claims Consultants in servicing BI clients with their claim's inquiries. The P&C Claims Associate will have a thorough knowledge of commercial coverage and the ability to determine the policy(ies) required to report a claim. The P&C Claims Associate is expected to perform and prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities which meet the established Claims Handling Procedures Best Practices.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

• Triage incoming emails in P&C Claim Inbox and report new claims to the applicable insurance carrier(s)


• Promptly and effectively manage the reporting of new claims


• Ability to identify which policy(ies) apply to a claim incident/scenario


• Contact client when additional information is required to report a claim


• Enter new claims in Sagitta to create Acord Loss Notice


• Set up and maintain claim file in Image Right filing all client and carrier correspondence


• Responsible for providing claims information from carrier to client on newly reported claims


• Assist Claims Consultants and BI service teams with claims inquiries and follow-up


• Effectively and courteously answer inquiries and questions from insureds and claimants


• All other duties as assigned and required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:

• Thorough working knowledge of Sagitta and Image Right and ability to maintain and organize all correspondence in the company document management system


• Solid technical insurance knowledge and background of business insurance coverage


• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities in a fast paced environment


• Professional communication skills necessary to communicate with clients, carriers and claims adjusters


• High self-motivation with excellent interpersonal skills


• Positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to a high performing team


• Ability to always maintain a professional manner


• An active 4-40 or 2-20 license or state equivalent
