We are seeking a full-time LPN to support practice operations at our fast-paced urgent care centers! We're offering a generous sign-on bonus of $5000.00 to welcome LPNs to our team. ExpressCare serves patients of all ages and is open seven days a week to help patients when they are sick or injured and can't get in to see their primary care doctor. Our services are designed to close the gap between primary care and emergency care by offering prompt, walk-in treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
For this opportunity, the LPN will be expected to cover shifts at the following ExpressCare locations:
• 370 Merrimack Street Lawrence, MA
• 323 Lowell Street Andover, MA 01810
Schedule:
There is a rotating schedule with weekday and weekend requirement. There is an expectation of working 2-3 12-hour shifts per week on the weekdays Monday-Friday 7:30am-7:30pm. (Example: 2 weekdays are worked one week, and 3 weekdays are worked the following week).
Additionally, every other weekend is required. The weekend hours are:
Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm
Sunday 8:30am-3:00pm
Job Summary
This nurse will assist in the delivery of compassionate and competent care including the treatment of patients utilizing both clinical judgment and critical thinking to ensure the highest quality of care delivery. The essential functions of this are:
• Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patient
• Travel to alternate offices, as necessary, and perform all duties as required by each location.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed practical nurses and medical assistants
• Monitor nursing in-basket for prescription requests and route them to the appropriate clinician
• Effectively triages patients and assists other members of the team with the rooming process as necessary
• Escalates any concerning patient conditions or decompensation to the clinician immediately
• Administer all medications and treatments per protocol
• Monitor and maintain code cart, AED and order supplies as necessary
• Respond to all same-day messages and log into the appropriate location according to protocol
• Assist in supervising new staff in clinical tasks
• Attend meetings, workshops, and training classes and participate in committees as requested
• Maintain professional affiliations and participate in professional development activities
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned
