The Sr. Project Manager position is a global role that owns the Offering Lifecycle NPDI, Sustaining, and End of Life processes for Vertiv Digital Services, primarily focused on condition based maintenance (Next Predict Services). This position is responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of multiple related projects, over cross-functional groups, directed toward strategic business and other organizational objectives. The role is responsible for each cross functional group's project, which rolls up to the overall program deliverables. These projects contain complex activities that may span functions, organizations, geographic regions, and cultures.
This role has no direct reports but will manage people indirectly. The Sr. Project Manager coordinates the efforts of engineering, offering management, manufacturing, procurement, quality, order fulfillment, logistics, service, marketing, sales, and other cross functional groups to optimize time to market while monitoring project and product cost, schedule, and resources. The role occupant is a subject matter expert who can easily build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with project stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization, to ensure success of the projects.
Responsibilities:
Own global NPDI Processes Services Offering Lifecycle (NPDI, Sustaining, and End of Life Processes), Global Requirements Management, and NPDI Resource Management. This includes continuous development and improvement to the workflows, and related documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
Evaluates, determines, and drives program management activities to manage several complex projects.
Prepares and presents program updates to senior management.
Defines and establishes engineering/production/project definitions, maintenance of schedules, and engineering releases associated with fulfilling project on time, on cost, on quality and with customer satisfaction.
Work with participants and stakeholders of the NPDI processes to solicit business needs, critically review and capture feedback, recommend updates, and draft requirements for our solution architect and developers.
Performs technical, administrative, and logistical liaison roles with company, customers, sales, design, contractors, and regulatory agencies for multiple programs. Functions as lead for more than one element.
Leads, directs, influences, and exercises extensive technical and operational knowledge and expertise to evaluate and resolve significant technical issues pertinent for key project(s) or program(s).
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and contracts.
Works with developers to create, industrialize, and launch process and tool changes
Requirements:
10-12 years' experience of project management experience.
Extensive experience working in a phase-gate New Product Development process for Products or Services, ideally around Digital Services based on condition based maintenance concepts.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering discipline (or equivalent of education and experience).
Certified PMP, Project Management Professional, or commitment to obtain.
Six Sigma, LSS, or DFSS certification
Experience working with or leading international teams
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Rally, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of Phase-Gate NPDI processes and agile methodologies.
Ability to integrate engineering and production concepts and information with project management systems and processes.
Knowledge of business concepts and principles associated with project cost and forecasting including Earned Value, Baseline Change Control. Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes and procedures is key. Knowledge of accounting, purchasing, and ERP/MRP is helpful.
Leadership capabilities that foster teamwork, accountability, and problem-solving across diverse, global teams.
This role drives programs with no direct authority. It is therefore essential to have good people skills and good communication skills, including running meetings and presentations.
Travel:
Up to 20% travel domestically and internationally as required, with occasional participation in global meetings outside normal working hours.
