ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for high-speed Internet, cable TV, and phone in Eastern Iowa since 2007. Since then, we have expanded our network to provide fiber Internet services to more than a dozen communities in Iowa and beyond! As we grow our network, we are looking for a Systems Analyst II or Senior Systems Analyst to join our team.

The Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and functionality of organizational systems. This mid-level role focuses on gathering requirements, evaluating systems and processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver improvements and solutions. The Systems Analyst works under minimal supervision, possesses a solid understanding of system design and development, and actively participates in projects of moderate to high complexity.
Location: This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the ImOn Communications Corporate Office.
The level at which the position is filled is commensurate on the final candidates' qualifications.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Level II
System Analysis and Design
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Testing and Quality Assurance
Triage, prioritize and resolve ticket queues.
Act as a liaison between business users, developers, and IT teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of system requirements.
Provide training and guidance to end-users on new system features and functionalities.
Assist in the integration of new software systems with existing enterprise applications.
Ensure that integrated systems work seamlessly and meet the business requirements.
Participate in the development of system integration test plans and monitor integration performance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system designs, processes, and operational procedures.
Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and management, highlighting system performance and areas for improvement.
Senior Level
All of the responsibilities of a level II in addition to:
Maintenance of and providing direction for all Internal Computing Systems:
Support and maintenance of the Enterprise Application Software designed to support the Telecommunications Billing Processes for own Retail and Wholesale Business
Resolution of Hardware, Software and Application problems
Audit System Alerts to ensure proactive and timely resolution.
Act as a Technical Project Leader for complex and/or long duration initiatives.
Tuning Systems for Redundancy, Performance, Security, and Data Protection.
Requirements
We are looking for people with (minimum requirements):
Level II
At least 2 years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, or a similar IT role, or combination of education and experience.
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related area.
Ability to triage, prioritize and resolve ticket queues.
Strong experience in system design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with various software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Proficiency with SQL, data analysis, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Understanding of system integration concepts and middleware technologies.
Senior Level
All requirements of a level II in addition to:
At least 5 years of experience in a Systems Analyst role or similar.
Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be team-oriented, friendly and personable with strong focus on customer service.
It would be nice if you had (preferred qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or other business software applications.
Knowledge of network systems, hardware configurations, and infrastructure.
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) or scripting.
