Job Description:

An award-winning weekly newspaper in Loudon County seeks a general assignment reporter AND a sports reporter. Candidates must have a passion for telling compelling stories that impact a growing community.

We’re looking for journalists who thrive on deadlines, strive

for accuracy and possess a creative flair for our weekly papers

as well as several magazines and digital products. A bachelor’s degree in mass communications or a relevant field of study is encouraged but not required. You also must be able to break news on our website, www.news-herald.net, and have a willingness to help grow our publication’s social media presence.

The successful candidates must be able to create his or her own story ideas, work with team members to develop news/feature ideas and juggle breaking news — all under deadline pressure.
