Job Description




Overall Objectives and Responsibilities:



  • Works on maintenance assignments that are semi-routine in nature and generally follow the standard work instructions (WIs)

  • Performs maintenance, repair, validation and calibration and on a variety of equipment and instrumentation in manufacturing, services and/or company infrastructure

  • Maintains consistent quality and efficiency in all assigned work orders and carries out assigned tasks independently with little supervision

  • Thoroughly follows WI and information from other reliable sources such as handbooks while performing maintenance or repair on equipment

  • Always ensures safe reliable operation and keeps downtime to a minimum.

  • Uses good judgment and reasoning while troubleshooting and analyzing

  • Maintains all logs and required documentation in compliance with established Quality System standards.

  • Utilizes, and maintains the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, repairs, PM s, and inventory control.

  • Maintains order and inventory of shop tools and equipment and keeps equipment and work area clean and organized

  • Works and communicates effectively with team members to attain best work flow and machine performance

  • Is dependable and on time for handover between different shift times

  • Follows all company safety and regulatory policies, including handling hazardous materials and wearing of proper PPE (personal protective equipment) that are relative to assigned work.

  • Is prepared to work overtime during shifts other than the one assigned or weekends if requested.

  • Completes successfully applicable on-site training programs in a timely manner.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.




Qualifications



  • Requires an AA degree or equivalent in electronics and/or general laboratory mechanics

  • Experience in maintenance and repair of electronic and mechanical components of industrial equipment

  • Proven ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to perform under pressure of a fast paced production environment.

  • PC based computer literacy

  • Ability to work well with a team with little supervision

  • Acts to comply with established quality system standards

  • Handles hazardous chemicals following, without exception, the company's safety requirements

  • Initial RCRA training

  • Annual RCRA awareness training

  • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) initial 24 hour training and annual 8 hour refresher training.

  • Hazardous Materials Transport DOT required every three years

  • Previous experience working in an ISO-9000 or cGMP environment.

  • Previous experience working with general laboratory equipment.

  • Microsoft Windows and Excel proficiency.

  • Previous experience working with Hazardous Chemicals.

  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds.
