Primary Functions

Analyze and improve grinding process to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. While using process analysis, process improvements, data driven descision making, continuous improvment initatives and colaboration and training.


  • Evaluate current grinding processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze data related to grinding efficiency, downtime, and product quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis to understand underlying issues causing inefficiencies or quality problems.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing grinding processes to achieve higher efficiency and lower operating costs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and test improvements in grinding methods, machinery, and materials.
  • Recommend process adjustments based on data insights to reduce waste, increase throughput, and maintain consistent quality.
  • Utilize statistical tools and data analytics to monitor and measure grinding performance.
  • Conduct time studies and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle times, defect rates, and yield.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting key findings and improvement recommendations to senior management.
  • Drive the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance the grinding process.
  • Lead or assist in Kaizen events, process mapping, and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Collaborate with production teams, maintenance, and engineering departments to ensure successful execution of process changes.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and staff on improved grinding techniques and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in grinding and manufacturing.
  • Conduct any other duties or tasks assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in grinding process improvement, manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in process optimization, data analysis, and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.

Skills


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (i.e., Excel)
  • Knowledge of grinding technologies, tools, and machinery.
  • Strong communication skills to present findings and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manager multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise and dust.
  • Ability to conduct plant walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Some lifting and bending may be required.
