Responsibilities


Position Summary


The Payroll Auditor is responsible for assisting the Manager of Bi-Weekly Payroll with PSA’s Payroll including but not limited to Maintenance, Management Support Staff (MSS), and Dispatch. This individual works autonomously with PSA and the Shared Services Organization (SSO) Leadership and acts as the liaison for PSA by providing dedicated internal support at PSA for Maintenance and MSS payroll. This includes actively participating during the discovery, selection, and implementation for all payroll technology enhancements (Workday, Roster Apps, Kronos, i.e.) through collaboration with SSO and American Airlines IT Leadership.


Job Responsibilities

  • Research, review, analyze, compile, and transmit pay information to SSO Payroll department to ensure proper payment of employees paid bi-weekly, including overtime payments, premium pay, Holiday pay, full time Union Leave Pay, and Per Diem pay
  • Analyze employee Regular/Overtime/Holiday pay data to ensure proper pay rates, rate increase/decrease accuracy
  • Function as Company point of contact for research, review, compilation of payroll data and resolve in a timely manner all Pay Discrepancy Reports
  • Analyze Transaction Code usage; provide correctional feedback to users
  • Participate in reviews of Processes and Procedures to support Company objectives and as a means for process improvement
  • Provide answers for employees’ payroll questions and correction for any discrepancies in pay Gain ability to quote and use collective bargaining agreements effectively
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, within the work group and occasionally within the function Some external manager and/or regulatory official communication may be required
  • Listen, understand, and negotiate within the function and occasionally across multiple functions
  • Work effectively in a team environment to deliver results
  • Foster a collaborative team environment within the function, engaging other team members using effective input and feedback
  • Answer queries from colleagues on the payroll standards and practices relating to the work groups they are part of or manage
  • Coordinate with Base Admins, Management, Human Resources, and SSO Payroll to ensure employees are paid correctly
  • Maintain files on network drives
  • Daily monitoring of employee schedules while pursuing money saving strategies
  • Assist Human Resources in following leave criteria and pay protection
  • Liaison between SSO Payroll and employees with timely resolution to payroll issues
  • Assess situations using advanced skills to reach timely and appropriate solutions
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Position Specifics


Qualifications


Required

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in office administration and/or customer service including but not limited to processing and auditing payroll as well as handling payroll inquiries by employees.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.

Preferred

  • Previous Aviation experience.
  • Previous experience working with Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This is not supervisory position
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Bi-Weekly Payroll.

Work Environment: This job operates approximately 90% of the time inside a climate controlled building and approximately 10% of the time outside in all types of weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
