Location: Burlington, MA



Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting, the Manager of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting will lead Azenta's technical accounting and SEC reporting functions. This position will regularly interact with executive management, global finance teams, operational finance teams, cross-functional teams outside of finance such as IT, HR, Legal, internal audit, external auditors and various third-party consultants.



What You'll Do...



  • Assist with the preparation of the Company's external reporting filings, including annual report, 10K, 10Q, earnings releases and XBRL tagging.

  • Draft financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A and technical accounting memos with minimal need for editing.

  • Prepare disclosure checklist

  • Compile accurate and complete supporting documentation for external auditors. Effectively liaise and resolve matters with internal and external audit teams.

  • Develop and maintain expert working knowledge of the Company's SEC reporting software.

  • Perform review and analysis of consolidated financial results and prepare supporting schedules for footnote and SEC reporting disclosures

  • Participate in SOX 404 efforts, including execution and documentation of controls

  • Analyze and research new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the SEC or FASB and prepare or review memorandums

  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits

  • Maintain updated accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and SEC guidelines.

  • Participate in due diligence process including review target's current accounting processes

  • Support the acquisition process including preparing schedules and tie out of schedules and valuations to support the Company's acquisition related accounting positions.

  • Member of acquisition integration team, including SOX control and compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP, etc.

  • Participate in the Company's annual goodwill impairment testing process and prepare supporting schedules, as required.

  • Participate in the calculation of the Company's stock-based compensation expense, including preparation of supporting schedules and calculations, as required.

  • Preparation of materials for presentation to executive management or the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

  • Participate in projects and perform ad-hoc tasks as requested.




What you will Bring...




Education



  • BS Accounting/Finance, MSA or MBA a plus


Experience



  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience in public accounting or with a publicly traded company

  • CPA license

  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills.

  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timelines

  • Experience with RDG Thunderdome or another external reporting tool a plus




Working Conditions/ Schedule



  • Four days on-site in Burlington office required.
