Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, development, and testing of satellite communication system releases to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
Lead the planning and execution of satellite communication system releases, coordinating development and test activities across multiple teams.
Define release content objectives and ensure alignment with long-term Increment Planning goals.
Develop a high-level understanding of system functionality to assess impacts on configuration items.
Establish milestones, communication plans, and release schedules for efficient execution.
Oversee progress tracking, cross-team coordination, and system integration lab resource allocation.
Work with system engineers to align test planning, ensuring smooth system test entry and execution.
Coordinate with program management and development leads to adjust priorities as needed.
Identify and resolve development roadblocks, ensuring effective team communication.
Communicate release development status in monthly reviews and collaborate with the deployment team to support implementation.
Drive process improvement initiatives based on lessons learned from previous releases.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field; or a Master's degree with reduced experience requirements.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Experience:
5+ years in release planning, systems engineering, or related roles (or 3+ years with a Master's degree).
Expertise in milestone planning, communication strategies, and release scheduling.
Experience facilitating Failure Review Control Board (FRCB) meetings.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (preferred).
