Responsibilities:
Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, including signal conditioning, power systems, ADCs, transformers, inductors, amplifiers, and communication components.
Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware for military and underwater applications.
Conduct trade studies on components and system architectures to determine optimal solutions.
Develop test criteria and assist in designing test systems, including software applications.
Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems.
Prototype and rework cable assemblies and circuit card assemblies.
Prepare technical documentation and present recommendations to program management and Navy customers.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field, plus 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including signal integrity principles.
Power Electronics: Strong understanding of transformers, inductors, op-amps, and transistors (Bipolar, JFETs, MOSFETs), including key parameters such as flux density, magnetizing current, and thermal analysis.
Communication Interfaces: Experience with Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP.
PCB Design: Hands-on experience with schematic entry (OrCAD Capture preferred), SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, and working with PCB layout teams.
Underwater Acoustics: Familiarity with underwater acoustic principles.
Additional Experience (Preferred): Battery systems, electric motors, and MATLAB programming.
