Assistant Athletic Trainer Tracking Code1085-674Job DescriptionPosition Description:

This position will serve as the athletic trainer for assigned sports and will work as part of the Sports Medicine team to facilitate the care of student-athletes.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include evaluation of illnesses, injuries, and course of action.


• Assist in coordinating appropriate medical personnel coverage and travel with assigned teams for away competition.


• Serve as a liaison for the medical care and well-being between student-athletes, coaches, physicians, healthcare providers and sports medicine staff.


• Update and maintain accurate medical records for individual student-athletes including medical history, physical exam forms, daily injury reports and progress notes.


• Responsible for the operation and implementation of preseason physicals.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Master's degree, BOC certified, Indiana License or ability to obtain, CPR/First aide certifiedMinimum of two years experience as an athletic trainer.

Other Qualifications:

• BOC certified, Indiana License or ability to obtain
