Assists Payroll Manager with the day-to-day administration of payroll. Serves as primary administrative support for payroll function. Provides customer service to respond to payroll questions from employees and managers.



Essential Functions

• Assists with running semi-monthly payroll process.


• Maintains accurate payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.


• Processes payroll as a back up to the Payroll Manager.


• Assists in preparing payroll and benefit contribution uploads.


• Runs payroll reports and assists during audits.


• Assists in resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.


• Works closely with the Human Resources and Payroll groups to assist in audits.


• Maintains efficacy of payroll operations by following policies and procedures.


• Provides administrative support to include but not limited to maintaining calendars, reports, preparing presentations, maintaining files, and managing audit responses.

• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualifications

• Associate's Degree In Accounting or related business field. Equivalent work experience considered

Experience Qualifications

• Work experience in Payroll related field. Working knowledge of Payroll and Human Resources. Experience in creating payroll journal entries.


• Experience in union work environment

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge in Viewpoint Vista


• Knowledge and strong understanding of accounting principles


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.


• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy


• Strong organizational and time management skills


• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Must be able to pass a drug test

Licenses and Certifications

• Human Resources\Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA

Evergreen Roadworks Pay Transparency

The anticipated hiring compensation range for this role, dependent upon qualifications & experience is $55,000-75,000
