Job Description:

Compensation: $29.22-$41.45/hr Dep on education/licensure

Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Additional $3000.00 sign-on for licensed applicants.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!

The Triage Clinician (TC) is part of the person-centered integrated team, providing direct and indirect services to youth (5-17 years old) who present to the Youth Behavioral Health Urgent Care (YBHUC). The TC serves as the main assessor for youth who are in a behavioral health or substance use related crisis and will complete the Open Access assessment, when applicable. This clinician will take the lead in directing the overall flow and referral processes at the YBHUC.

*We are seeking PRN staff with evening availability; preference to those who are available Friday evenings 5p-9p. 16 hours/month minimum required to maintain PRN employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC


  • Triage youth, in collaboration with the nurse on shift, that present to the YBHUC by swiftly, but kindly, assessing the behavioral or substance use related crisis

  • Philosophically understand the purpose of the YBHUC is to avoid unnecessary hospitalization and/or law enforcement contact

  • When clinically appropriate, provide comprehensive assessments using the DSM-5 and complete agency intake documentation

  • Identify and assess appropriateness/readiness of referrals for all recommended services, both internally and externally

  • Work collaboratively with team members within the YBHUC, Compass and external partners

  • Maintain client records, following agency and state regulations

  • Provide culturally competent services to meet the unique cultural needs of each agency consumer and family member

  • Be knowledgeable of other human/social services for purposes of referral if the agency is unable to provide a particular service and maintain documentation of such referrals

  • Interface with other community partners (such as law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, etc.) to provide holistic services to persons served

  • Provide an individual, client centered discharge plan, to all client as discharge

  • Support YBHUC team with collection of data

  • Complete training and perform Level One Medication Aid duties, as needed

  • Provide virtual support to other Behavioral Health Crisis Centers, as needed

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK


  • Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids

  • Regular exposure to medications

  • Regular exposure to biohazard and/or chemical waste materials




  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field required

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum of two years of experience working in Crisis Services if a bachelor's degree is the highest level of education obtained

  • If licensed, at least two (2) years' experience (preferred) and working knowledge of DSM-5 required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

  • PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in Missouri preferred
