AT&T has an opening for aSoftware Engineer to support the National Security Team. This position directly impacts continuous monitoring, performance analysis, and cybersecurity for a large worldwide network enterprise through deploying, tuning, and optimizing network management tools. The position is one of a large team of developers, system administrators, and application experts building next-generation solutions. Our team is working to automate deployment functions, event responses, and network provisioning. This is an opportunity to develop a network performance solution capable of predicting outages and identifying malicious user activity through analytics of baseline network behavior. Work with us to modernize four security enclaves with thousands of devices in a unique, mission-focused environment.
This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities: Strong or demonstrated hands-on engineering experience with:
Leading and coordinating with other engineers in project meetings to provide deliverables within scope and budget.
Developing software-based solutions using Python, Java, and web technologies.
Developing and maintaining NSO runbook configurations based on customer requirements.
Designing, implementing, testing and supporting application front-end development and document design ideas.
Participating in production troubleshooting and issue correction for applications after production implementations.
Coordinating with other engineers and solving complex production issues concerning developed software solutions.
Predicting emerging customer needs and developing innovative solutions to meet them.
Providing weekly status updates to technical and project leads in line with project milestones and task.
Strong background to perform development using system development lifecycles to include requirements and control gates and all documentation associated with standard intelligence community and DoD engineering lifecycles.
Participating in requirement gathering sessions.
Collaborating with the team on application architecture design and decision-making.
Remaining a strong team player working with diverse software and hardware development and operations teams; work with engineering managers for day-to-day team schedules and work assignments.
Experience with:
Cisco Network Service Orchestrator (NSO).
Strong Python, Java, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
Integrating data between disparate systems using REST APIs, Python/Java libraries, Python/Java vendor APIs.
Using package/dependency management and build tools for Python/Java (i.e., pip, poetry, maven, gradle, ivy, etc.).
Building and packaging software for consistent deployments across multiple environments to include code coverage, unit testing, mocking, and integration testing.
Using version control system (i.e., git).
Working in a Linux environment (i.e., Bash shell).
Solid understanding of Layer 1-4 fundamental protocols.
Python/Java web frameworks (i.e., spring, flask, Django, etc.).
Network automation using NETCONF or RESTCONF.
Data modeling language, specifically YANG.
Verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
Knowledge of Unit Test framework a plus.
Knowledge of Agile & Scrum Methodologies.
Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)
Required Qualifications: Required candidate qualifications must include hands-on experience with Python software development. The candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. (NOTE: This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years of experience OR Masters and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, Associates and 14 years or HS and 16 years. Years).
The degree must be in Computer Science or a related technical field. A highly motivated candidate must be able to work independently and with local and geographically diverse team members using effective time management skills to meet deliverable timelines.
Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Desired Qualifications: Expertise in Cisco Network Service Orchestration (NSO) runbook development.
