Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/ERG Programming Manager at Mizuho Americas Services LLC in New York, New York

Job Description:

This role will report directly to our Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is responsible for supporting our five Employe Resource Groups (ERGs) and other Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming. The individual will be a key contributor to the day-to-day operations and logistics of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy. The successful candidate will have a roll-up-their-sleeves mentality and genuine enthusiasm for helping to create, build and maintain Diversity, Equity and Inclusion solutions to support our business and employee needs.

Responsibilities of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/ERG Programming Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Coordinate and support the activities of ERGs, ensuring alignment with the organization's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion objectives.

  • Facilitate and manage communication between ERGs and the broader organization, promoting awareness and engagement.

  • Develop and manage a calendar of ERG events and initiatives, ensuring effective planning and execution.

  • Track and analyze data related to ERG participation and impact (including type of event, location, audience, day and time, attendance, budget, etc.), providing regular reports to stakeholders.

  • Assist ERGs in identifying and securing resources necessary for their activities and initiatives.

  • Maintain and monitor ERG budgets and expenses, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with organizational goals and providing regular reports to ERGs and company management.

  • Assist ERGs with the processing and payment of invoices related to ERG activities. Coordinate onboarding of new vendors and tracking of payments. Manage and reconcile purchase card transactions.

  • Assist ERGs with the compliance of policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and update Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Intranet site with latest news and updates.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external Diversity, Equity and Inclusion organizations and networks, leveraging best practices and resources to enhance the organization's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

  • Manage Genesys Works high school internship program and supervise a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion intern.

  • Special Projects: Carry out special projects/assignments as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
3 to 5 years of experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, employee engagement and/or program management
Proven track record of supporting, managing or advising ERGs within a corporate setting

Skills and Competencies:


  • Deep understanding of ERG structures, governance and best practices

  • Strong program and project management skills, with experience scaling ERG initiatives across an organization

  • Excellent management skills to support Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and ERG leaders

  • Data- driven approach to measure ERG impact engagement and alignment to business goals

  • Experience developing leadership development programs and engagement strategies for ERG leaders

  • Strong collaboration skills to build partnerships between ERGs, Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

  • Effective communication skills to navigate sensitive conversations in a rapidly evolving landscape

  • Familiarity with corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies and how ERGs align with business objectives

  • Knowledge of how ERGs contribute to talent attraction, retention and employee development

The expected base salary ranges from $125,000.00 - $175,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
