About The Role:



CALSTART has an immediate 6-month part time paid internship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Business Development Initiative. The Development Proposal Intern will support the Business Development Initiative team and report directly to the Lead Proposal Manager. Our intern will play an important role in government proposal support.


This is a part time paid internship for 6 months - we are looking for someone who can start right away this Spring.



What You'll Do:


  • Support the development of grant research management for government opportunities.

  • Assist with teams' channels creating templates and completion of forms for proposal projects. (internal communications)

  • Assist in the organization maintenance and improvement of Request for Proposals (RFP) tracking and completion.

  • Conduct proposal research, write summaries of proposal to share with Lead Proposal Manager.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




What You Bring To The Table:

  • Completed at least three years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor's degree in English Communications, Education, Liberal Arts, Mass Communications or any related field.

  • Experience with project management platforms.

  • Experience with writing and editing.

  • Strong writing skills and an ability to communicate technical information in a clear and accessible manner.

  • Strong organizational skills attention to detail and task management abilities.

  • Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a remote work environment.

  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations.

  • Would like, but not necessarily familiarity with emerging trends in zero-emission transportation infrastructure and/or vehicles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Minimum commitment of 20 hrs/week




Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with grant writing

  • Experience working for nonprofits

  • Self-driven and motivated individual that is passionate about clean transportation and research



$16 - $21 an hour

. Pay is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
