Job Description:
The Senior Manager of Quality Assurance promotes a quality mindset across the company and is responsible for managing all QA functions, working with cross-departmental leadership to deliver high-quality products on schedule. This role involves leading incident investigations and establishing and maintaining a quality system to ensure the company's personnel, methods, processes, and procedures conform to both internal guidelines and corporate quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate directly with senior management at the parent company regarding quality.
Assure quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products.
Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
Develop raw material standards by studying manufacturing requirements, conferring and negotiating with suppliers, and devising testing methods and procedures.
Implement in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
Establish standards for the disposition of finished products by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
Institute rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
Create a product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Complete quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
Develop a quality assurance staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees to ensure that standards are met.
Manage quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Ensure quality by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Achieve financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Responsible for executing ISO9001 and factory recertification audits.
Support Production and HR group to apply ISO 14001.
Control "5S".
Lead Quality Management Review meetings.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Comprehensively manage the work, evaluation, recruitment, education, and training of the entire technical group, devise ways to solve problems, and report to your manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or associate with experience in the field of quality or five (5) to eight (8) years of manufacturing quality experience in golf ball quality management, at least five (5) years of management and supervisory experience in a small to medium size automated manufacturing facility.
Language Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and structure and contact of English language including business level Japanese skills due to constant communication with and reporting to the Japan Corporate.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and employees including communication with persons outside the organization.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Ability to read, write and communicate business and financial issues in Japanese is required.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP helpful.
Demonstrated experience and success providing quality systems support for responsibilities including: production and process controls, non-conforming material processing, receiving inspection, and final quality release.
Demonstrated experience and success in applying quality problem-solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, and process capability analysis.
Demonstrated leadership ability as well as excellent organizational, listening, and verbal/written communication skills.
Strong team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Managerial and administrative skills to motivate and keep a team focused on deliverables. Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, and make accurate assessments of development risk and mitigation strategies.
Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are needed for presentations and discussions with teammates and management.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, specific gravities, correlations, slope, standard deviation, and mean. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
