Position Overview The Lead Accountant will oversee the 3 direct reports in the accounting department and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This role is crucial for managing consolidation projects, preparing financial statements, and maintaining regulatory compliance while leading a team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage and coordinate consolidation projects to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FERC accounting standards.
Prepare and review account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Support SEC reporting initiatives and ensure compliance with SEC regulations.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate accounting initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting and corporate accounting.
Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Experience with consolidation projects and account reconciliations.
Familiarity with FERC accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
