Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Operations Analyst, Regulatory Compliance & Interchange Operations to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, spearhead manual pricing calculations, and oversee compliance efforts related to Regulation II updates and the Interchange Fee Prohibition Act (IIFPA).
This role is critical in ensuring accurate fee assessments, managing complex data validation processes, and supporting system-wide changes to maintain compliance.
This is a pivotal opportunity for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in payments, interchange fees, and regulatory compliance to make a direct impact on our organization's strategic direction and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Operational Oversight
Ensure accurate execution of interchange fee calculations, fraud-prevention adjustments, and manual pricing methodologies required under Regulation II and IIFPA.
Maintain and track pricing tables for 180 days post-transaction, ensuring data integrity and timely execution of required adjustments.
Oversee merchant-submitted tax and gratuity exclusions, verifying documentation and processing credits within the mandated 30-day window.
Risk Management & Audit Readiness
Implement controls to mitigate compliance risks associated with interchange fee changes.
Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure adherence to new regulatory frameworks, reducing exposure to financial penalties and reputational risks.
Establish audit-ready documentation, reporting, and reconciliation processes to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Implementation Support
Act as the key resource for regulatory-driven system enhancements, coordinating with technology teams to implement pricing recalibrations and transaction tracking updates.
Drive cross-functional alignment with internal teams (legal, finance, product, and technology) and external partners to ensure seamless compliance execution.
Conduct testing and validation of new pricing methodologies, ensuring regulatory adherence and operational efficiency.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience complex pricing systems and data models (Pricing tools are proprietary) Power BI, Cognos, Alteryx, Excel
Strong understanding of interchange fee structures, transaction processing, and fraud-prevention mechanisms.
Proven track record in managing compliance initiatives, regulatory reporting, and operational risk mitigation.
Ability to analyze complex regulatory frameworks, translate them into operational strategies, and drive execution.
Experience working cross-functionally with legal, finance, risk, and technology teams to implement regulatory-driven system changes.
High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, reporting integrity, and risk assessment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive decision-making and alignment.
