About the Role

Essity's Global Supply Chain/Manufacturing team in North America is currently seeking a Shift Coach for our Barton paper manufacturing site. This position will lead their crew in safety, operations, productivity, reliability, and efficiency, by creating an environment where their crew is at the center of problem solving and creating results.

The Shift Coach is one of the key positions of the operations department. They are ultimately responsible for the operations results and development of employees on shift and is the interface between management and on the floor operations team.

What You Will Do


  • Uphold Essity’s Beliefs and Behaviors.

  • Ensure the safety performance of employees, promoting a safe work culture and addressing safety hazards and unsafe acts.

  • Oversee shift performance, including productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost control, encouraging continuous improvement.

  • Communicate expectations and evaluate employee performance, sharing knowledge and ensuring team knowledge transfer.

  • Enforce and administer company policies consistently, participating in training and development of new employees.

  • Direct, coach, and train employees to improve skills and stimulate individual growth.

  • Build relationships with employees, promoting open communication, creative thinking, and teamwork.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are


  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays;

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field helpful but not required;

  • Five years of manufacturing operations leadership experience;

  • Strong coaching skills;

  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions, as well as handle conflict and confrontation;

  • Good planning, organizing and prioritizing skills;

  • Mechanical trouble-shooting skills;

  • Knowledge and experience using manufacturing best practices and applied improvement processes.
