Position: Assistant General Counsel



Department: Legal



Work Location: El Paso, TX, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)



Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, which allows for a minimum of 3 in-office days (Tuesday to Thursday) and 2 remote days (Monday and Friday). Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.



What you will be doing:

• Draft, review, edit, and negotiate legal documents of all types.
  
  


• Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in contract review.
  
  


• Evaluate various contracts, business arrangements, and initiatives and provide opinions to minimize to business units and company leadership.
  
  


• Demonstrate ability to identify and mitigate risks as they arise.
  
  


• Eliminate/reduce risk.
  
  


• Be proactive in identifying risks or potential risks.
  
  


• Assist and provide legal advice to business units and company leadership.
  
  


• Research and interpret laws, regulations, court decisions, and other legal authorities, as needed, to provide legal advice.
  
  


• Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in building relationships with business units and shared services.
  
  


• Remain up to date on relevant current and evolving legal trends impacting our business and company.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  
  


• 3+ Years with in-house or law firm experience.
  
  


• Active law license in the state of Texas.
  
  


• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Corporate or transactional experience.
  
  


• Spanish language (read/write/speak)
