Job Description:

State Street Global Advisors is seeking a Senior Consultant Relations Liaison with institutional consultant and client experience who can develop and expand relationships with key research and field consultant decision makers with US investment consultants. Reporting to the Head of Consultant Relations, Americas, this individual will work closely with other members of the Consultant Relations team, Sales, Relationship Management, Investments and other key internal stakeholders to help win and retain institutional client business through consultants.

As a Senior Consultant Relations Liaison:


  • You will develop, coordinate and implement business development plans and expand relationships with research, field consultants and senior executives at specified consultants

  • You will increase the number of buy ratings across all SSGA investment strategies and products while also working to improve our success rate in client searches

  • You will collaborate with Portfolio Management, Investment Strategists, Sales, and Relationship Management to establish an agenda that appropriately positions our firm, our capabilities, and products with each individual consulting firm

  • You will meet with consultant research staff and field consultants on a regular basis to develop their knowledge of SSGA's capabilities and products.

  • You will keep consultants informed of important events and product launches related to SSGA and effectively manage their expectations

  • You will organize and host periodic consultant/client relationship reviews with key consultants and appropriate internal constituent groups.

  • You will obtain regular feedback, competitive intelligence and market information from key consultant contacts and share that broadly across the firm

  • You will maintain an understanding of your assigned consulting firms, business strategy, client focus and roster, key decision makers and manager selection process


Education & Preferred Qualifications & Education


  • At a minimum you will have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, as well as significant investment depth and understanding of investment concepts and strategies across asset classes.

  • Experience in the institutional consulting marketplace is also preferred.

  • Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, working well with other members of the Consultant Relations Team will largely influence your success in the role.

  • Partnering with colleagues across the organization is required.

  • Effective communication will be a key to success.

  • Extensive travel is required.

  • A CFA, MBA, or other advanced degree is preferred.

  • Series 7 and 63 preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
