Responsible for process capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement project implementation within a process. Provides specific engineering work related to field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Support capacity planning and growth, as well as define budgeted rates and process documentation. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with cross-functional teams such as PM, Reliability and Mechanical Technicians to support daily production/waste goals by keeping equipment running correctly and maintained and by administrating equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM).
Customer interface for quality issues . Can and may work directly with customers (audits, et c .)
Conceive, and implement process improvements to support the business.
Obtain Change Initiation Request (CIR) approval to implement changes.
Perform and/or writes validations for new products, machines and machine changes.
Provide support to address quality issues.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business. Preventative maintenance program maximizes equipment runtime and performance.
Technology and data used to optimize processes performance.
Optimized utilization and development of process area Mechanical Technicians.
Drive OEE/waste
Mentor other Process Engineers in the area
Supervision:
This position may supervise other people leaders or exempt associates in a small team 1-10 associates
Education and Experience:
Education:
Required : Bachelor's degree - Mechanical Engineering , or related field. In Lieu of Bachelor's degree - Associates degree + 10 years manufacturing experience
Minimum Experience:
General Engineering expertise related to automated fabrication, assembly, and packaging equipment for high volume production.
Must be knowledgeable of materials, processing, safety, ergonomics, and cost estimating.
Understand Six Sigma methodology and be able to demonstrate skill level in the DMAIC process.
Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience preferred.
