What You’ll Get to Do
The EP Door Fabrication Lead Technician - Night Shift guides and motivates our custom doors team, providing direction and support to help them achieve goals,and reports to the Doors Fabrication Manager.
This role is perfect for an individual who is a leader, has attention to detail, and has a plethora of experience in door fabrication. A vital member of the Custom Doors Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.
Job responsibilities include:
Ensure all personnel, prior to the start of shift, are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)and that safety awareness, policies, and procedures are maintained throughout the shift.
Ensure all safety and incident reporting procedures are followed as well as all individuals are properly trained, and their job functions are being performed correctly.
Report to Maintenance any operational equipment malfunctions and support Maintenance team as needed.
Report to IT any equipment, program, server, etc. related issues and support IT team as needed.
Own the process, understand the workflow, build employee relations, and learn all of the processes through hands on experience alongside crew and management team.
Review, analyze, and evaluate shop schedule to become familiar with schedule, delivery dates, estimated work requirements, staffing, and time needed to complete jobs.
Ensure production schedule is completed by the end of each week and that quality standards are met each job.
Able to read, understand, and interpret fabrication drawings, die drawings, and shop drawings.
Participate, contribute, and drive continuous improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
Facilitate meetings, toolbox talks, and on the job trainings with employees as needed.
Ensure all employees are following operational standards, expectations, and ideal work practices.
Facilitate administrative duties such as employee times, reports, KPI data, safety data, quality data, and other record keeping duties as required.
Update KPI and storyboards daily and facilitate daily team meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Experience using or ability to learn to read a tape measure to the 16th's
Experience or the ability to learn to read and understand fabrication drawings
Experience using powered industrial tools
Read written instructions and follow verbal instructions
Multitask, prioritize and work under time constraints
Must be a team player and willing to be trained to work in other areas as assigned
Communicate well with peers and management
2+ years of manufacturing or fabrication experience is required.
Must be a team player who is willing to directly assist their employees as needed.
Able to drive and sustain 5S program throughout the department.
Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
Must be able to work 2nd shift, with periods of required overtime
Preference will be given to applicants with former fabrication experience
