Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Manager of IOE Scheduling is responsible for the oversight of PSA IOE Scheduling critical to the operation including supervision of IOE schedulers. This role ensures that PSA is efficiently utilizing crew members, including Line Check Airman and Check Flight Attendants, within the limitations of the Federal Air Regulations, labor work rules, and company policies. The Manager of IOE Scheduling works closely with Flight and Inflight Training, Crew Planning and Crew Scheduling to deliver high quality trained crew members.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure all flight crews are qualified to perform duties, pursuant to regulations and contractual restrictions.
Provides training and development of New Hire IOE Schedulers and continuous coaching for on-the-job training for the IOE department.
Develop and maintain a recurrent training program for Pilot and Flight Attendant IOE Schedulers. Track Scheduler progress throughout training.
Ensures team standards are consistently met by conducting on-the-job process evaluations and standardization checks of all IOE schedulers’ execution of scheduling procedures.
Oversee the assignment of new hire crew members with Line Check Airman and Check Flight Attendants to on line flying for training.
Manage, schedule and track Supervised Line Flying (SLF) and consolidation line checks
Oversee the scheduling of AQP.
Coordinate the development of new Line Check Airman and Check Flight Attendants, including working with Flight Standards, Training administrators, and In-flight to schedule on the line training and FAA observations to maintain staffing levels.
Liaison with the FAA to remain compliant with FARs and processes, including crew member’s observations; maintaining records of LCA status along with their eligibility to perform CA Upgrade FAA OBS, and track scheduled FAA observations to completion.
Partner with Training, Daily Operations and Crew Planning for crew member training progress to forecast future needs for crew member staffing.
Coordinate with multiple departments to review crew member’s progress during training and build monthly schedules.
Ensures IOE Schedulers monitor Pilot and Flight Attendant Trainee progress during training.
Work with In-Flight on the completion of IOE students and annual line checks for Flight Attendants.
Assure all flight crews are qualified to perform duties, pursuant to regulations, equipment restrictions, and contractual restrictions.
Attend Pilot and Flight Attendant new hire classes to go over contract and provide guidance.
Create and evaluate reports as necessary to ensure that crews are legal and qualified for flight assignments.
Monitor and manage irregular operations and daily flight operations for crew conflicts, including but not limited to duty time compliance, crew legality, and company policy.
Assist with Crew Planning and Training department with GRS, SIM, LFT, and PCR pairings when needed.
Work with Crew Planning for management of IOE scheduling output and planning needs.
Develop and maintain logs of significant events in order to assist in reporting, follow-up and relief debriefing.
Lead and participate in special projects, as assigned.
Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
At least 3 years of experience in scheduling large populations of personnel to assigned job duties.
At least 1 year in a supervisory/management position.
Previous experience with software scheduling systems.
Previous aviation experience.
Knowledge of FAA Regulations.
Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
Proficient with regards to written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to speak/read/write in English.
If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree.
Advanced knowledge of PSA/ALPA and PSA/AFA working agreement.
Experience with Sabre CrewTrac and/or Flica.
Additional Information
Delegation: In absence, the Director of Crew Resources will handle the delegation of duties.
Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position that oversees Pilot IOE Schedulers and Flight Attendant IOE Schedulers.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Security Clearance: All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209 and pre-employment drug screen.
