Responsibilities


Position Summary

The Fleet Manager will impact PSA Airlines’ by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient standard operating procedures as it relates to flight operations. This will be accomplished by establishing industry best practice policies and procedures through PSA manual systems as it relates to the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Regional Jet (MHIRJ) CR7 (CRJ-700, CRJ-701, and CRJ-702) and CRJ-900s.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the content and revision of the CRJ Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) and associated Normal Procedures Pilot Checklist.
  • Responsible for the content and revision of the CR7/CRJ-900 Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) and Quick Reference Card (QRC).
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of the POH, Normal Checklist, QRH, and QRC.
  • Ensures content of applicable manuals for which the Fleet Manager has authority and ensures conformity to FAA requirements and the type certificate holder, and where necessary the recommendations of other overseeing entities (e.g. IATA, NTSB).
  • Responsible for operational engineering, (performance, and weight and balance) of the CRJ program. Ensures third party vendor(s) are conformant with regulatory requirements.
  • Acts as a liaison to the aircraft manufacture/ type certificate holder.
  • Liaison for Flight Ops to other departments in matters related to the CRJ and aircraft weight and balance/performance. Departments include but are not limited to: Pilot Ground and Flight Training, Training Development, Tech Services, Technical Ops/Engineering, Inflight Standards, and the Safety Department.
  • Represent PSA in industry and manufacturing working groups.
  • Responsible for direction, support and oversight of the FAA approved EFB program by leading tow EFB Specialists.
  • Participates on Minimum Equipment List (MEL) workgroup and provides input and expertise for MEL content and revision process.
  • Responsible for content and revision of CR7/CRJ-900 Pilot Reference Manual (PRM)
  • Promote a positive, professional culture at PSA.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics


Qualifications

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a 121 flight instructor-simulator or Line Check Airman.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PSA manual systems and the CRJ aircraft.
  • Experience with managing programs.
  • 1 + years’ experience leading aviation professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS)
  • PSA Line experience
  • Experience in identifying, gathering, and analyzing data for consumption and visualization.

Additional Information

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Assistant Director of Flight Operations Technical.

Authorities:

  • When delegated, responsible for all manuals systems related to the specific aircraft type assigned (e.g. CRJ)
  • When delegated, responsible for EFB Program

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Security Clearance: All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209 as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
