Position Overview:
Boeing Defense, Space & Security's (BDS) X-37B is the United States' most advanced, state-of-the-art reentry space craft. Boeing is the prime contractor for the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), an unmanned space vehicle that is used by the United States Air Force to explore reusable space vehicle technologies in support of long-term space objectives.
Objectives of the X-37B program include space experimentation, risk reduction, and concept of operations development. Managed by Experimental Systems Group (ESG), a unit of Boeing Space and Launch Systems, the X-37B is a flexible, affordable and responsive platform balancing the characteristics of a spacecraft and an aircraft. A unit of The Boeing Company and headquartered in St. Louis, BDS is one of the world's largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world's largest and most versatile producer of military aircraft and commercial/civil/government space systems. This Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer position is located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Position Responsibilities:
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.
Leads and implements manufacturing plans.
Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years reading and interpreting engineering drawings for work instruction creation.
3+ years reading and interpreting engineering part lists for bill of material creation.
3+ years using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Willingness to work in a spacecraft shop floor environment around work-stand platforms while dressed in clean room garments for extended periods of time.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry preferred.
MRB certification preferred
3+ years with manufacturing execution systems such as MESci
3+ years with Product Data Management tools/systems such as TeamCenter
3+ years with Computer Aided Design tools such as NX/Unigraphics
Experience in spacecraft or aircraft shop floor liaison activities in a multi-disciplinary environment
Experience with model based engineering implementation into model based instructions
Experience with drawing, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with design concepts and techniques such as concurrent engineering and Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/A)

Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
